I've spent the last two decades helping people and brands look like they mean it. From logos and full identities to websites, print and video, my work spans a huge range of industries, but the thread running through all of it is the same: getting the details right so the bigger picture works. Along the way I've built a particular soft spot for music industry projects, designing for artists, tribute acts and album covers alike, work that comes from a genuine love of music rather than just another brief.
I'm Colin Phelps — a London-based multimedia designer with over 20 years of professional experience. I started in print and graphic design, then expanded naturally into digital, video production and web as the industry evolved around me. The result is a genuinely cross-disciplinary skillset that's rare to find in one person.
My career has taken me from designing album artwork and music catalogues for Demon Music Group — one of the UK's leading independent labels — to creating campaigns for global brands like Amazon, Dell, Citroën and Suzuki. That range is something I'm proud of. I can shift register between a corporate brand identity and a record sleeve, and I bring the same rigour to both.
Music has been a constant thread throughout my career. I'm a music lover at heart, which is what makes music industry work feel natural rather than just professional. Earlier on, I produced and presented radio shows for two stations over about five years, and that time behind the scenes and behind the mic only deepened my connection to the industry I now design for.
I work freelance, which means clients get direct access to the person doing the work — not a junior passed the brief. If a project needs me, I'm on it.
Logos, visual identities and the guidelines that keep them consistent wherever they show up. I work with clients to find something that feels true to who they are, not just a trend that'll date in a couple of years.
From marketing materials and event collateral to packaging and promotional print, I design work that holds up just as well on paper as it does on screen.
From filming and editing promo videos to shooting on green screen and building electronic press packs, I create video content that captures energy and works hard across social, web and booking enquiries alike.
Full website design and build, from first concept through to ongoing management and maintenance. Clean, functional sites that make it easy for the right people to find what they need and get in touch.
