Logo, brand concept and website design for a jazz-pop Marilyn Monroe tribute act with old Hollywood glamour and a modern edge.
Thoroughly Modern Marilyn needed a brand and website that captured old Hollywood glamour without becoming a straight impersonation act. The concept had to carry the jazz-pop sound, the wit, and the personal story behind the character, then translate that into a logo and a site that could sell the show to weddings, Pride events, jazz bars, and everything in between.
I designed the logo and developed the brand concept from scratch, then carried that identity through into the website design. The site needed to work hard across different bookers and audiences, from wedding planners to jazz bar owners, so the design leans into the glamour while keeping the tone warm and approachable rather than purely retro pastiche.
A brand and website that stands out from a typical tribute act page, giving Thoroughly Modern Marilyn a polished, professional presence that reflects the personality behind the performance and makes it easy for bookers to get in touch.
A couple of details that would sharpen this further: do you know roughly when this launched, and was there a specific brief conversation about the "not just an impersonation" angle, or did that come from you? Let me know if you want any tweaks, or the next project.
